Why There’s a Flamingo in Our Story 🦩

If you’ve ever visited Absolutely Boutique or noticed our signage, you may have wondered—why a flamingo?

It’s bright, a little bit playful, and full of personality. But for me, it means so much more than that.

That flamingo is

“Mum, Dad and Flynn 🦩 — her little travel companion who went everywhere with her and made every adventure a bit more fun.”

My beautiful mum loved flamingos. She had this fun little flamingo named Flynn who became her travel companion over the years. He popped up in photos, came along on adventures, and brought a bit of joy and humour wherever she went.

In May 2018, I lost my mum to breast cancer. She was just 61.  

She was an incredibly inspiring woman. She taught me to work hard, to treat people fairly, and to always be a good person. Everything I am today is because of her and the way she lived her life.

When I created Absolutely Boutique, I knew I wanted it to stand for more than just clothing. I wanted it to feel like heart, like connection, like something real. Including Flynn in our branding just felt right—it’s my way of keeping Mum close in everything I do.

I truly believe she’s still with me. Watching over me. Supporting me.

And I often think… if she were still here, we would have done this together. And by jingoes, we would have made an incredible team. She was fearless—she would have been front and centre, shining on social media, bigger and brighter than I could ever be.

The flamingo isn’t just a symbol.  
It’s a reminder.  
Of love, of strength, and of where this journey began.

So when you see Flynn, you’re not just seeing a logo.

You’re seeing a piece of my mum.  
And a story that will always be part of Absolutely Boutique. 🦩💗
